Texas CBE 及格分数和重考规定 —— 学生需要知道的 (2026)

Texas CBE 可以在一次考试中获得高中学分 —— 但前提是学生达到相应路径的及格线。Texas 法律实际上定义了两条不同的 CBE 路径,有两个不同的及格阈值,关于"几分及格"的混乱多源于将两者混为一谈。

1. 两条 CBE 路径

无先修学习(加速):根据 TEC §28.023(c),学生须达到 80% 或以上。
有先修学习(学分恢复):根据 TAC §74.24,学生须达到 70% 或以上。

路径取决于学生的学习历史以及校区/考试机构如何登记本次考试 —— 在考试日之前向校园辅导员确认适用的阈值。

2. UTHS 与阈值

UT High School 在每场考试的官方页面公布及格阈值。部分 UTHS 考试使用 80%(加速),部分使用 70%(学分恢复)。注册前请始终在该具体课程代码的官方 UTHS 页面核实。

3. 典型考试形式

大多数 CBE 约 50–60 道选择题,有时含 grid-in 数学题与简答题,总时长约 3 小时。具体长度、题型和时间因科目和机构而异。

常见问题

What is the passing score for Texas CBE?

It depends on the route. For the district acceleration route under TEC §28.023, the threshold is 80%. For the UTHS or Texas Tech prior-instruction route under 19 TAC §74.24, the threshold is 70%. Always confirm with your school counselor before testing.

Can I retake a Texas CBE?

Yes for UTHS — retakes are unlimited and only the highest score is used. For the district §28.023 route, retakes are typically capped at one attempt per subject and require about a 90-day waiting period.

Does the CBE score replace my classroom grade?

No. The CBE score and the classroom grade are recorded separately. Passing the CBE earns course credit on the transcript; it does not change the regular-class grade you already received.

What happens if I don't pass the CBE?

Nothing on your transcript changes — a failed CBE is simply not recorded as credit. You can retake (UTHS) or try a different route. The student stays in their normal coursework.

Does the school district have to allow CBE?

Yes. Texas Education Code §28.023 requires every district to permit Credit by Examination for acceleration. Some districts have additional process requirements (counselor sign-off, GT recommendation), but they cannot refuse the §28.023 route entirely.

Is the CBE free?

The §28.023 route is statutorily free at the district level. UTHS charges roughly $50 per exam under the §74.24 route. Practice resources like Texas CBE™ are separate and optional ($19.99 / 6 months).
